Benefits of Choosing Children’s Healthcare

February 8, 2019 By Douglas Liantonio

When it comes to your children, it’s important to find health care providers who care about their health and well-being as much as you do. You hope to find a facility that is nurturing, caring, professional and accommodating to your busy and unpredictable lifestyle and needs. At Children’s Healthcare in Newburyport and Haverhill, Massachusetts, we are committed to providing your family the quality care they deserve. Here are some reasons why Children’s Healthcare is beneficial for your children’s healthcare needs.

24/7 Access to Care

At Children’s Healthcare, we know there is never a “convenient” time for a child to be sick. That’s why we offer extended hours, from 8am to 8pm, as well as weekend hours. Plus, we know that many of the medical questions you have come after office hours; that’s why we have a triage nurse and physician on call 24 hours a day, seven days a week, providing advice for most minor illnesses and guidance on whether your child should be seen in our office or by an emergency care professional right away.

We Respond

Our on-call triage nurses at Children’s Healthcare are highly skilled at answering questions that parents may have about their children’s health. If a parent has a more complex problem or would like to speak directly to a doctor or nurse practitioner, the triage nurse can take a message and your call will be returned in a timely fashion.

Walk-In Sick Care, After-Hours & Urgent Care

Children’s Healthcare location on the Lower Level of the Newburyport office offers appointments for sick children in the evenings, on the weekends, and even during holidays. If your child has a new or sudden illness, you can walk in with them – no appointment necessary. Alternatively, when our office is closed, a Children’s Healthcare medical provider is always on call to respond to your urgent questions.  If you need to speak to our on-call provider, call (978) 465-7121.

Well-rounded Circle of Care

Children’s Healthcare recently announced that we are a Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH), which means that care is provided in a child-centered, family focused manner. We provide a full circle of care that is both comprehensive and accessible. We know that parents are part of their child’s circle of care, that’s why Children’s Healthcare works closely with parents to ensure their children’s health and well-being.

Educational Material and a Knowledge Portal

As a parent, you want to be as knowledgeable and proactive as possible when it comes to your child’s health and well-being. Children’s Healthcare website offers patient information – from recommended dosage charts, forms and a fun and informative blog, to a comprehensive and award-winning patient education library to ensure your Children’s Healthcare experience is as positive and informative as possible.

A Team of Child Healthcare Specialists

At Children’s Healthcare, we provide compassionate, comprehensive care that is centered around your child’s physical, mental, and emotional needs. Children’s Healthcare is made up of a diverse group of medical providers who work together and with you to treat the whole child, not just the symptoms. Our medical staff includes board-certified pediatricians, nurse practitioners, nurses, a pediatric nutritionist, and a special needs expert so we you can receive many perspectives and options for care.  If your child requires a referral to an off-site specialist, we will stay in touch with that specialist to monitor your child’s progress throughout the course of treatment for now, and throughout their childhood.

When it comes to your children, you want to ensure they’re being cared for by the best. At Children’s Health Care in Massachusetts, we care about your child and about your whole family. We are accessible 24/7 and ready to serve you. To make an appointment, or to speak with our on-call nurse, dial (978) 465-7121.
